Tacoma Nalley Valley Bridge Demolition

Dickson Company demolished 3 large concrete bridges as part of the I-5/SR16 EB Nalley Valley project in Tacoma.

Demolition of EB I-5 and SR16 overpass of Nalley Valley involved demolition of two 4 lane concrete bridges spanning 2 large city blocks and two 4 lane roads each, and a third smaller section of bridge. The bridges had been constructed entirely of heavily reinforced concrete, with massive "tetrapod" concrete pillars supporting 60 foot tall reinforced concrete girders, columns, and decking.

Dickson Company was able to bring the bridges down safely over 3 separate phases, with construction and earthwork done concurrently and between phases.
